Creating "Esther & Astor" ; A Sister's Love Lives On

Season #1 Episode #26

This conversation is with an amazingly bright light of a human being.  Cara Perkins lost older sister Leah (Cox) unexpectedly in 2018 to suicide. In Cara's own words:

"I work day to day as an interior designer in the furniture industry. After I lost my sister to suicide it became apparent to me how many have been touched by suicide and mental health issues. A dream was put into my heart to start making leather bracelets marked with a semicolon to show support for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. I have recently branched out into making more customized items, but still include the " ;  " within the piece. My hope is to be able to help support, bring comfort and peace to anyone who may need it through my creations. If that is through a sale, great. If it is through true connections and any words of comfort or wisdom I can bring to someone, even better! A portion of each sale is donated to a couple different suicide prevention and support groups.(AFSP and TSPN) I want to spread love and kindness around and let others know that they matter. I have found in my experience, that I can become so overwhelmed with emotions at any given moment, that I will touch my bracelet or rub the semi-colon as a grounding technique; I hope that they will help others in that way as well. "

You won't want to miss this conversation, especially if you are a surviving sibling or parent.
